Tuesday 28th March - walk **** Holywells Park, Ipswich - cloudy and wet.

Missed a really nice sunrise today but couldn?t be bothered to walk down to the seafront as we had to go to Ipswich Hospital early this morning so Maggie could have her cast removed. Despite the poor forecast, rain all day I quickly packed a picnic, then left home at 8.30 for the drive to Ipswich in the rain! We were not in the waiting room long before Mag was called and the cast was soon off, not a pleasant experience as her arm is still pretty sore and boy did her arm look wrinkly. She was then soon called through to see the doctor who said everything was set fine and he would book her in to see the physio who saw her within minutes, you certainly can?t fault the service provided by the NHS in Ipswich. Mag has not got much movement in her hand and it will sadly take many months to calm down but at least this is a step in the right direction! We were out of the hospital by 10.30 and despite the rain we headed over to our favourite Holywells park. We parked outside for a snack and cuppa, got to love that little flask and message both our boys about Mag?s progress. Then with the rain stopped we decided to set off on a circuit around the park with brollies in hand, it was a little soggy underfoot but lovely none the less, quiet too with the rain putting people off! We walked right around the outer footpath enjoying seeing many squirrels with robins and tits too:) A magnificent magnolia tree was in full bloom too as we headed down to the middle lake which is starting to get some duck weed on:( Then back to the van and we drive to The Strand for our sandwich stopping quickly at the waterfront to take a few pics. The cheese sandwich was great but the lay-by next to the River Orwell with views of the bridge was not great with cars whizzing past so fast! We had a message to ask if we could baby sit the lovely Maeva so we headed home via Lidl. Then had a nice afternoon with the new Granddaughter, always a pleasure:)
